All these units were built in the 1970’s. A couple in the early 1980’s. My guess is that these homes owners became late in their space rents at a mobile home park. When you sign your lease you agree that if you become delinquent that the park can put a lien on your mobile home. If the home is older, it’s not worth much. So if you are even a few months behind the park owner will own your home and you will be evicted. Maybe the home owners were packing but didn’t have the money to move, so they got locked out from their possessions. Keep in mind that most people had outside storage sheds, so the contents would have also been packed into the home. Eventually the park owners have auctions similar to storage units rental places. It looks like someone who owns all this land bid on them with some reason in mind. They got moved out there and he never got around to going through all the stuff. By the way the trees have grown up around the trailers, it looks like they have been there many years. It’s all very sad.

Awesome video, hope to visit some day. At some point the process of pushing cars on other tracks with a wood beam was outlawed. The beams would sometimes break and seriously injure the person holding it. I was told it was outlawed in the 30s but I've noticed engines from the 40s still have those divets.

A good cautionary tale for those who might find mausoleum burial appealing. While it may give you some odd comfort to know you will stay above ground, this shows how tenuous that is. Abandoned and desecrated mausoleums are multitudinous in the USA and elsewhere. Maintaining these buildings in perpetuity is impossible. When the mausoleum is filled the income stops.

I am curious as to what vehicle you are driving for this travel. You may have said but if you did, I missed it. Do you carry your bike along too or is this basically vehicle views? I think these back-woods trips are my favorites...never know what we might see! I have to say I have 2 favorite houses......the red one that could have been a home/business and the one that had the 2 front doors and 2 windows! Thanks for the ride-a-long. Awesome video.

Car kicking using wooden poles was very commonly used in every Major American yard as of 1940's it was known as (Sticking) or (Poling) which later became outlawed by all major railroads in the late 60's due to many deaths of the wooden poles snapping and Impaling brakemen to the car itself. A lot of Alco units had pole indentions on all their units even the Famous "UP BIG BOY" and many of the freight cars as well, there are some pieces that never got this circle due to the restriction of the car at hand. EMD units where rarely to even have the circle indention on the locomotive at all as EMD used a half circle instead and wasn't used a lot.
